Discover Hypnotherapy - learn how hypnosis can help

Hypnotherapy is using hypnosis to help people, it is the use of hypnosis as a therapeutic technique.

It is an altered state of consciousness in which you allow yourself to enter, with the guidance of a therapist. You are in control all the time, you always know what is happening, and you can come out of the altered state at any time in the same way you can come out of a daydream.

The hypnotic state can feel as if you are dreaming or daydreaming, it is a natural form of consciousness which many people experience on a daily basis.

For example when you have ever been so absorbed in a film it has actually felt as if you are there, that is a form of Hypnosis.

During hypnosis, subtle yet powerful suggestions are given to your unconscious mind.

Your unconscious mind is part of your memory, wisdom and perception that you are unaware of at any one time. It contains all your hidden and potential power, it’s where your habits and self-image are stored, and where they can be changed.

In hypnotic state a therapist can by-pass the barriers of your mind to your inner thoughts and feelings. The suggestions are acted upon much more powerfully than is possible in a normal state of mind.

These powerful suggestions can be used so that clients can create positive changes for themselves or alter their perception of past events which may of been affecting them.

While the people get quite confused by stage comedy hypnosis there is a substantial body of evidence and research showing that the clinical use of hypnosis is effective for a wide range of issues – and moreover it is completely safe.

Hypnotherapy can be used to help you with any aspect of your life.

What is Hypnotherapy?: About

Can Hypnotherapy Help You?

Hypnotherapy can treat many issues such as anxiety, stress, confidence issues, unwanted habits such as nail biting and smoking just to name a few.

Can you imagine feeling better, calmer and more clear headed. Letting go of that old habit or changing that outdated way of thinking or behaving. Change doesn’t need to be hard, or take months. The hardest part is making the decision to change something. My approach is caring and professional and I get great results.

How do you know if hypnotherapy is right for you?

I offer a free initial consultation to discuss how I can help. At this initial consultation I will assess if hypnotherapy is suitable for you and the most effective way to achieve your goals.

In the initial consultation I can answer any questions you may have and give you an idea of the number of sessions and expected outcome of treatment. It is important to understand that everyone is unique and will respond in their own way to hypnotherapy. A guaranteed outcome is not certain as with any treatment, but I can give you a good idea of what I feel is achievable and we will talk through a treatment plan which we will follow together over the coming sessions.

I have a network of other therapists with different specialties so I will always refer you on to if I feel I am not the best person to help.

If you have an issue that is holding you back and want help then book a consultation with me, call Scott on 07525851033.

Commonly Asked Questions

There are many myths surrounding hypnosis but many aren’t true. Here are some common questions I get asked about hypnotherapy.

Can certain people not be hypnotised? (and that you maybe one of them)

The truth is that you have already been hypnotised countless times in your life, so have all your friends, family and everyone else in the world. It’s just different from what you expect that is why you don’t even notice it.

For example, do you remember the exact moment at which you fall asleep at night? that is because at the moment you fall asleep, you are deeply hypnotised. Similarly, you are driving along on a long journey and suddenly realise you have lost half a dozen motorway junctions. Some people can do it by losing themselves in a good book or playing a computer game.

How many times in your life have you scratched, bruised or injured yourself in some way but you don't remember doing it.

When someone is hypnotised properly are they going to feel ‘dead’, asleep or at least like a zombie with no free will of their own?

No. What you actually feel when you are hypnotised is just like day dreaming. This is simply because when you are entranced, you’re not aware of it!

Is hypnosis dangerous?
No. It is impossible to do any harm with hypnosis.

Can people can get stuck in trances?

No. It is impossible to get ‘stuck’ in a trance. Left in a hypnotic trance, you would move into a normal sleep from which you would awake refreshed after a very short time.
